The #1 Key Rule In Life

Following up on my last blog, I’d like to talk to you about the biggest secret and #1 key rule in life. Well I guess it’s not really a “secret” per say. I guess its more the part everyone likes to forget about as they grow up. From my experience in life most people all have this in common. Most people I talk to like to go on about how things just aren’t working out the way they planned or they can’t achieve their goals in life. Can you figure out yet what all of these people have in common??

Let me just save you the suspense and cut to the chase. The #1 RULE is to take responsibility for everything that occurs in your life. Soooo many people will blame someone or something else when things don’t go as planned, rather than just pointing the finger at themselves. The funny thing about this is – we all live with the same obstacles at hand. We all have the same temptations in front of us, like food, drinks and so on, just for example. Some people choose to give in to those temptations, while others choose to not give in. The only one to blame for putting the food in your mouth is YOU!

I hear alot of people say “I don’t have time to get to the gym”, or “I don’t have time to cook” or “I don’t have time to get things done that I want to”.  I find this very interesting as we all have many things to do and we all have 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week. I have noticed that the busiest people will find time to get the important things done like taking care of themselves. Many people though, think they are busy, however really are just busy thinking about how busy they are!!  I believe that if you aren’t making taking care of yourself an absolute priority, that eventually you will have no choice. Some sort of illness will set in.

If you don’t make time for health, you will eventually make time for illness.  Saying you don’t have time for health is like saying you don’t have time to get gas for your car. Eventually, that car is going to shut down.  Health is your wealth.  Make it a priority and choose to take care of yourself.  The facts are simple and also disturbing. More people take better care of their car and house than they take care of themselves.  Would you put bad gas in your car? No. Would you put crap siding on your house? No.  Then why would you not take the same amount of care for your temple – your body?   So, I ask you, do you choose to treat your possessions better than you treat yourself?

So remember the truth of the matter is: you make as much money as you want to make. You weigh on that scale what you want to weigh. You work where you want to work. You are in the place you are in in life because of what you have done or what you have not done.  It’s not because of what other people have done to you or what the government is doing.   The facts are: there are other people who are just like you (or even worse off for that matter) who are living the life of their dreams.    People are succeeding and the difference is they choose to do the right things day after day, month after month and year after year. No doubt, there are many bumps along the way, sometimes huge hurdles – but…you get the point.  We get done what we truly want to get done and if we don’t get it done then it was a “should” and not a “must” with our priorities.  So – choose the life you want. Don’t live someone else’s.  At the end of the day, YOU are in charge of what happens.
